The language department of Maharashtra government has selected Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's book publishing arm -- Bharatiya Vichar Sadhana Prakashan for the S P Bhagawat award for excellence in publication.
This is the top most award of the government for the publication sector.
The language department is part of education minister Vinod Tawde's portfolio.

The publication house, popularly known as 'Bhavisa', an acronym of its Marathi name -- has published books on nation builders, social workers, biographies and books devoted to patriotism; irrespective of commercial interests. Hence, it has been chosen for the award, said an official release.
The language department has also chosen veteran writer Maruti Chittampalli for lifetime award named after Vinda Karandikar, a famous Marathi poet of the 20th century.
Mangesh Padgaonkar award for contribution to Marathi language conservation will be given to Sham Joshi, founder of Granthsakha library in Badlapur in Thane district.
The library has around 2.50 lakh titles and has been a major supporter to book enthusiasts.
Yasmin Sheikh, former professor of Marathi language is selected for Ashok Kelkar language studies award, the release said.
All the awards will be distributed on February 27, which is celebrated as Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Day in the state.
