State-run BHEL today said it has commissioned a 270-MW unit of a coal-based thermal power plant in Maharashtra.
The third unit was commissioned at Rattan India Power Limited's (formerly Indiabulls Power) upcoming thermal power project located at Amravati in Maharashtra, BHEL said in a statement.
This is the third 270 MW unit commissioned by BHEL in Phase-1 of the project. The project is being executed in two phases, each of 1,350 MW, the statement said.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 281.40, down 1.30 per cent on the BSE.

RS Sachdeva appointed President of AIIGMA
Chandigarh: Mohali based industrialist R S Sachdeva, who is a co-chairman of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Punjab chapter), has been appointed as President of All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers Association (AIIGMA).
He has been elected unanimously in the recently concluded Annual General Meeting, said a release here.
AIIGMA is a body of gas manufacturers having more than 400 small, medium and large Indian and 50 global companies as its members.
Sachdeva is MD of Hitech Industries Limited, an ISO Certified gas manufacturing company and a leading supplier of all grade industrial & medical gases to big industrial houses, and public sector undertakings, said the release.
