BHEL shares slide nearly 2% after massive rally

Shares of power equipment maker BHEL today fell by nearly 2 per cent on emergence of profit-booking, a day after massive surge.

The scrip lost 1.85 per cent to end at Rs 156.85 on BSE. During the day, it dipped 3.91 per cent to Rs 153.55.

On NSE, shares of the company went down by 1.81 per cent to close at Rs 156.75.

In terms of volume, 48.79 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 4 crore shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

Shares BHEL yesterday soared nearly 16 per cent after the company reported a 54.21 per cent jump in net profit for the April-June quarter.
 

State-run power equipment maker BHEL reported a 54.21 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 77.77 crore in April-June period mainly because of positive topline (turnover) growth after three-and-a-half years.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 50.43 crore in the June quarter of last fiscal, BHEL said in a regulatory filing.
