Bhooter Bhabishyat sweeps Anandalok Purashkar, win 5 awards

Swastika Chatterjee, who essayed the role of the ghost of yesteryear actress Kadalibala, won the best actress award while Raj Narayan Deb bagged the best music director award instituted by a leading film magazine here.

Saswata Mukherjee and Mumtaz Sircar also won the award for best supporting actors, male and female respectively.

Swastika said "This is the first time I received an Anandalok award in my 10-year career."

'Muktodhara', a film on prison reforms and transformation of a convict to a Tagore play actor, was declared the best film while Nigel Akkara, himself a convict turned actor, was declared the best debutante actor.

 

Young inspector Rana of Kahaani, Parambrata Chattopadhyay was declared the best actor for his role in Hemlock Society by Srijit Mukherjee, another critically acclaimed film.

"The past one year has been a dream run for me," said Parambrata, who was also in Bhooter Bhabishyat in the role of a film director.

"Didn't know I will have to face so much hazard just for making a film," Anik said in jest possibly referring to the continued public adulation he had been getting since screening of Bhooter Bhabishyat.
