Former state PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal is in jail in a case registered against him by the Enforcement Directorate, but he is an invitee to an awards function organised by the Tribal Development Department of Maharashtra government.

Bhujbal, a senior NCP leader, is the MLA from Yeola in the district. He is in jail since last year.

His name figures on invitation cards for 'Adarsha Sevak and Adarsha Sanstha' awards function organised by the Tribal Development Department at Kalidas Kala Mandir here on March 27.

His name on the invite raised eyebrows, but when contacted, government officials said it could have been printed inadvertently, or because he is a sitting MLA from the district.

Union Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamare alongwith state Tribal Development Minister Vishnu Savra and Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan are also expected to attend the event.
