Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar opened with a modest two-under 70 to be placed him tied 14th in the Lyoness Open here.

Bhullar had four birdies against three bogeys in his round, while Jeev Milkha Singh carded a one-under 71 to be tied 21st and SSP Chowrasia, making one of his rare his appearances in Europe since losing his card last year, shot a three-over 75 and was 70th.

Jeev, a past winner in Austria, when the tournament was called by another name, has dropped from a career-high world ranking of inside top-30 to a current ranking of 618.

He had three birdies in first four holes but also dropped two bogeys on the front nine as he turned in one-under. On the back-nine, he had a birdie and a bogey on the 18th.

Mikael Lundberg claimed a share of the first round lead at the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity as the Swede seeks a first European Tour title for six years.

Lundberg, a winner of the Russian Open in 2005 and 2008, has had to come through Qualifying School in each of the last three seasons but fired a five under par 67 to join Adam Gee at the top of the leaderboard.
