Gaganjeet Bhullar carded a sparkling five-under 66 to grab a share of the sixth spot at the halfway stage of the USD one million Shinhan Donghae Open here today.

Three birdies in the first four holes and another four on the back-nine indicated that Gaganjeet Bhullar is close to the form that brought him five Asian Tour titles.

Bhullar, who is returning from a injury, last won in 2013, and confessed to being hungry to return to the winners' circle.

Bhullar added a fine five-under 66 to his first round 68 and is now eight-under 134 and three shots behind the leader, Thailand's Thitiphun Chuayprakong (67-64).

India's young Khalin Joshi (68-69) was Tied-13th, while the only other Indian making the cut, Jyoti Randhawa (71-71) was Tied-58th. Also making the halfway cut was Daniel Chopra (70-70) in tied 49th.

Missing the cut were Arjun Atwal (73-71), Shiv Kapur (76-69) and Jeev Milkha Singh, who withdrew in the second round after a first round 75.

The cut was set at one-over with 73 players progressing into the weekend rounds.

Bhullar was in fine form, as he teed off from the tenth and reeled off three birdies from 11th to 13th. A bogey on 16th was a temporary setback as he birdied four times in five holes between second and sixth. A closing bogey on ninth was a bit of sour taste as he ended at 66.

Bhullar was pleased with his good form which he felt could not have come at a better time.

"I was in the tournament winner's category for the last six years and it's important to get back into the winner's circle again. You go through ups and downs in golf. I've been working hard on my game and I'm hopeful for that win to happen again," said the 28-year-old Bhullar.

Thitiphun, who burst into prominence with his maiden Asian Tour win in Bangladesh earlier this year, continued to impress by making his move with his two-day total of 11-under 131 at the Bears Best Cheongna Golf Club.
