Bhutanese MPs should "learn" from India's Parliamentary system, Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari said today, evoking all-round laughter in the House which has been witnessing uproarious scenes and disruptions ever since the Monsoon session began on July 21.

"I take pleasure in extending a hearty welcome to the leader and other members of the (Bhutanes) delegation and to wish our distinguished guests an enjoyable and fruitful stay in our country. We hope that during their stay here they would be able to see and learn more about our parliamentary system," he said.

As he mentioned the word "learn", the entire House erupted in laughter, apparently conscious of the fact that the House has been witnessing continued disruptions. The Bhutanese MPs were also seen smiling.

Ansari hoped the visiting guests will also learn about India and its people and their visit to the country will further strengthen the friendly bonds that exist between India and Bhutan.

"Through them we convey our greetings and best wishes to the Parliament and friendly people of Bhutan," he said.

The Bhutanese parliamentary delegation was led by Lyonpo Jigme Zangpo, Speaker of National Assembly of the Parliament of Bhutan. It also included Sonam Kinga, chairperson of the National Council of Bhutan.
