Top BJP leaders in Bihar, including Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and national spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Husain today organized an Iftaar party in the honour of those observing "roza" fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Leaders from all NDA constituent parties in Bihar attended the party.
Prominent among those present were Deputy Chairman of state legislative council Haroon Rashid, state BJP chief and MP Nityanand Rai, JD(U) MLCs Sanjay Singh, Sanjay Gandhi and Neeraj Kumar, state LJP chief and minister Pashupati Kumar Paras and RLSP MLAs Lalan Paswan and Sudhanshu Shekhar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Modi stressed that the NDA government in the state has been sensitive towards the needs and aspirations of the minorities and underscored schemes introduced by the regime in this regard.
At the Iftaar party organized inside the city's Anjuman-e-Islamia Hall, the BJP leaders welcomed "rozedaars", joined them in prayers and participated in the feast which began with water and and dried dates.
The BJP leaders stressed on the need to foster "Hindu-Muslim unity" and urged members of all communities "to live together in peace and contribute towards the progress of the state and the country".
