Bihar BJP's new team of office-bearers announced

Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal

retained almost the old team of party office bearers which was announced here on Friday.

The team comprises 12 vice presidents and four general secretaries among others.

Jaiswal, who was appointed state president in November 2019 replacing Nityanand Rai, who is minister of state in the Union government, made public the list in the state capital.

Jaiswal is a Lok Sabha MP from Paschim Chamaparan and party's chief whip in Lok Sabha.

Obeying advisory on novel coronavirus, the announcement was a low key affair avoiding gathering of those chosen and their jubilant supporters, party sources said.

The 12 vice-presidents, includes Ajay Nishad (MP), Om Prakash Yadav, Rajendra Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Mithilesh Tiwary, Radhamohan Sharma, Pramod Chandravanshi, Pinki Kushwaha, Nitish Mishra, Rajesh Verma, Rajiv Ranjan and Baby Kumari.

 

Former minister Samrat Chaudhary, who had joined BJP after spending time with JD(U) and later with Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha did not find place in the list. He was a vice president of the state unit in the previous team.

Nagendra Jee retains the post of general secretary (organisation) while Shiv Narayan Mahto will work as co- general secretary in the same capacity.

Jaiswal made four general secretaries, 12 secretaries, a teasurer and a co-treasurer in the state team besides naming nine party leaders as spokespersons.

He also appointed presidents of various morchas and cells.

Devesh Kumar, Janak Ram, Sanjeev Chaurasia and Sushil Choudhary have been appointed as general secretaries.

Devesh Kumar is a journalist-turned BJP leader.

Rup Narayan Mehta, Amrita Bhushan, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Ajay Yadav, Poonam Sharma, Shila Prajapati are among the 12 secretaries.

Those named as spokespersons included- Prem Ranjan Patel, Sanjay Tiger, Nikhil Anand, Arvind Singh, Azfar Shamsi, Manoj Sharma, Akhilesh Singh, Vivekanand Paswan and Ramsagar Singh.

Dilip Jaiswal will be party's treaurer while Shyama Singh will be the co-treasurer.

Suresh Rungta has been named as in-charge of state headquarters while Satpal Narotam will be the office secretary.

Durgesh Singh will head Yuva Morcha while Lajwanti Jha was named as president of the Mahila Morcha among others.
