Bihar Governor, CM condole death of Shashi Kapoor

Bihar Governor Satyapal Mallik and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today condoled the death of veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, recalling his contributions in the fields of cinema and theatre.

In his condolence message, the Governor said "Shashi Kapoor took Indian cinema and theatre to great heights. Besides being a competent actor, he was a man full of human sensibilities."

The Chief Minister condoled the 79-year-old actor's death, saying "the demise of Shashi Kapoor is an irreparable loss to the film world. He ruled the hearts of movie buffs in the 1970s and 80s with blockbusters like Sharmili, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kala Patthar, Deewar and Trishul. The actor also achieved success as a film producer and director."
 

Kapoor passed away this evening while undergoing treatment at a Mumbai hospital.
