A high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar here today decided to widen all state highways into two lanes.
In accordance with the decision, a total of 1320 km of roads out of a total of 4,005 km in the state would be widened, an official statement said here.
The review meeting of the Road Construction department attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, department minister Nand Kishore Yadav and Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh among others also decided to construct additional bridges on the Indo-Nepal border in view of some of them damaged in the flood.

In the urban areas, it was decided that the Road Construction department would make arrangement for street lights on the roads constructed by it for security point of view.
In review meeting of Transport department, it was decided that data of all vehicles in the state would be integrated to keep a record of their history.
E-system payment would be enouraged in the Transport department, it added.
