A people's intervention group has accused the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government of turning a blind eye to the alleged thrashing of two backward caste youths by the landlord of a village.

The two youths, Sunil Chauhan and Vijay Sharma, were allegedly beaten up by the landlord of the village in Rohtas district of Bihar in January 29 for asking for their due as construction labourers.

Police have registered an FIR into the case after much dilly-dallying, the NGO Janhastakshep, which has carried out an independent probe into the case, said.

The FIR mentions six persons by name including three sons of the accused landlord, it said.

Professor Ish Mishra of Hindu College, Delhi University and Vikas Bajpai of Jawaharlal Nehru University were part of the probe team.
