Bihar minister acquitted in model code case

A local court today acquitted Bihar Water Resources Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh in connection with a case relating to violation of the model code of conduct.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Narayan Das Sharma acquitted Singh in the case relating to the 2010 Bihar assembly elections for want of evidence.

The case was filed against Singh for allegedly luring voters in favour of a particular party.
