Bihar plans Agri-feeder for regular power supply for farming

For setting up Agri-Feeders and implementing power projects, the government has decided to approach NABARD, the Central funding agency.

This was decided at review meeting of agriculture road map for 2012-17 under the leadership of Chief minister Nitish Kumar.

The first of its kind road map in the country was launched by President Pranab Mukherjee on October 3.

Chief Secretary A K Sinha told reporters after the meeting that out of targetted fund of Rs 12,496 crore meant for spending in the first year, 48.5 per cent of the planned expenditure for 2012-13 has already been spent.

Sinha said during review meeting the progress of work related to setting up of bio-gas plant and cultivation of paddy and wheat through use of vermi compost was looked into.
