Bihar sizzles under intense heat; high humidity continues

Scorching sun and intense humidity continued in many parts Bihar today with the MeT department here forecasting rain across north western part of the state in next 24 hours.

Maximum temperature of Patna was recorded at 39.2 degrees Celsius today, Met office said.

Maximum temperature in Gaya was recorded at 40.8 degrees Celsius and in Bhagalpur it was 39.1 degrees Celsius, the weather report for the day said.

Humidity was 60 per cent in the morning in Patna but it dropped to 39 per cent in the evening, the report said.

Similarly in temple town of Gaya, the humidity in the morning was 48 per cent while in the evening it was 33 per cent.
 

State Met department director A K Sen said as per weather forecast, the North Western part of the state, including Champaran district, is expected to witness rain tomorrow.

Rain is expected to hit Northern part of the Bihar on Monday, he added.

And on Tuesday rain is expected to arrive in Eastern part of the state, Sen said.

Chances of rain are slim in Patna and Gaya for next 3-4 days, the Director said.
