Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today said that the safety and security of students from the state studying at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur is being taken care of and the process of bringing them back has started.
"Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh telephoned Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh over the issue. The Manipur CM and DGP have visited NIT hostel and talked to students from Bihar," Manjhi told reporters on the sidelines of a function.
The Bihar CM also informed that security has been arranged for the students and they are being taken to a safe place, from where arrangements will be made to send them back here.

Manjhi had made a distress call to the Union Home Minister yesterday, requesting him to ensure the safety of Bihar students after they were beaten up by anti-social elements on September 12 and 13.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Gopa Sabarwal today met Manjhi at his official residence and provided information regarding commencement of classes and other activities.
