Bihar will have its first anti-terror police station here with the state government today approving a proposal in this regard, an official said.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters.
The first anti-terror police station will be headed by a police officer of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank, he said.

In another major decision, the state government approved sanction of an ordinance for constitution of a three-member search team for empanelling prospective candidates for the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) and Pro-VCs of the state universities, Mehrotra said.
The Chairman of the search committee will be made on the recommendation of the Governor and a candidate will be a reputed educationist or such an educationist conferred the Padma award for his services in education sector, Mehrotra said.
The second member will be a director of the the reputed educational institution, while the third member will be the Principal Secretary (Education).
An advertisement will be put out in two national-level newspapers for the vacancies of the post of the VCs and pro-VCs and the search committee will make recommendation for three candidates from which one will be appointed by the Chancellor in consultation with the state government, Mehrotra said.
The state government further approved another proposal for creation of the post of the Advisor (Energy) to the Chief Minister.
