Two class XII students were allegedly molested by bike-borne youths, who also attacked one of the girls with a knife when she resisted their attempt to assault them, police said today.
The victims, who happened to be sisters, are residents of Abdullahpur village under Bhawanpur police station, police said.
The sisters were waiting for a bus at a bus stand yesterday when two bike-borne youths arrived there and allegedly molested them.
They attacked one of the victims with a knife, leaving her injured and fled the spot.
Since the victims and the accused belong to different communities, the incident has led to tension in the area, police said.
Police personnel have been deployed to keep the situation under control.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) M M Baig said the injured girl was undergoing treatment at a hospital and a case has been registered against the accused -- Alim and Eben Ali.
While Alim was arrested today, a police are making efforts to nab Ali.
