Biker dies after colliding with stationary truck

A 55-year-old factory owner was killed here after his bike rammed a stationary truck, police said today.

Durgesh Gupta, who was not wearing a helmet, swerved his bike sharply to avoid a jeep coming from the opposite side, and crashed into the truck parked on the roadside near Sagarsa village here.

Police said he sustained severe head injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Gupta was travelling to his factory to pay workers' wages and was carrying a bag which contained cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh which was later handed over to family members by police.

Meanwhile in another incident, a 60-year-old farmer died after a truck rammed the cycle he was travelling on, in Sanchedi area here.
 

The victim Rajpal, a resident of Dewan village, died on the spot, police said.

The bodies of both victims have been sent for post-mortem, they added.
