Bio digester plants will be installed in 80 hotels in the capital city to ease the problem of solid waste treatment.
Tarun Kapoor, additional chief secretary, urban development, said the hotels have been identified and the plants would be installed by the hotel owners.
Addressing the councillors of Shimla Municipal Corporation, Nagar Parishad and Nagar Panchayats, the official said waste to energy plants would be installed in Rohroo, Rampur, Chopal and Sunni for solid waste disposal.
Instructions have been issued for proper door to door garbage collection in the city and other urban local bodies, he said.
Kapoor also directed that arrangements be made for proper management of parks and plans be chalked out for beautification of urban areas.
