K K Singh (66) wanted to have a child and convinced his secretary to be the surrogate mother, Mahesh Nagar SHO Sanjay Sharma said.
"The woman gave birth to a boy in a Mumbai hospital in 2007. Six months back, she got married and yesterday came to Singh's residence with her husband and sister to take custody of the boy," he said.
In his police complaint, Singh said the woman and four others, who came along with her, created a ruckus and tried to kidnap the minor.
Singh claimed he had paid the demanded money to the woman to give birth to the child.
The exporter provided birth certificate of the boy and DNA report to the police team to confirm that he was the father of the child.
"Prima facie, it appears the woman wanted to extract more money from the exporter, therefore, she tried to get custody of the minor," the SHO said.
