West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said the Biswa Bangla brand, under which all handloom and handicraft products of the state are being sold by the government with an intent to promote the MSME sector, would one day stand out.
Speaking at the award distribution ceremony of the second Biswa Bangla Sharod Samman, Banerjee said, "It's nice to see today the dias has justified the name of the Biswa Bangla ... It's nice to see that my brothers and sisters from Dhaka, from Dubai, from Houston and Mumbai, Lucknow and other parts of the country have assembled here.
"I feel so proud that the Biswa Bangla brand has united everybody and is helping to establish brand Bengal in the globe."

Banerjee also stated that in the coming years Durga Puja would become one of Bengal's major attractions globally.
She announced that from next year the state government was planning an immersion rally of Durga idols in the city through the Red Road.
"We are planning to hold a rally with the winners of Biswa Bangla Sharod Samman awards. We have spoken to Kolkata Police and we are working on it," she said.
The Biswa Bangla Sharod Samman is an initiative by the West Bengal government to nominate and reward the best Durga Pujas in different categories.
