Expressing disgust over the use of cuss words in Bengali films of present, veteran actor Biswajt Chatterjee today said we should draw more from our rich literary contents.

"I don't like the liberal use of expletives in many Bengali films at present. Introduce such terms and phrases if it is necessary in terms of script, charactersiation and situations. But that is not happening," Biswajit told PTI after being conferred the Kolkata Gourab Samman lifetime here.

Biswajit, who would name films like Sagina Mahato in past or Baishe Srabon in recent times as the ones which merited the use of such terms and phrases in tune with the situation, status of characters and plot, rued but many other present day directors are introducing such words for the heck of it.

"This is corroding. You can't watch such films with our family, children and sisters. I think there has to be a need to introspect these things," the MayaMrigo actor said.

Happy with the performance of 'Bumba' (son Prosenjit Chatterjee) in Jaatiswar as Anthony Firingee, Biswajit said, "I also liked his role in Baishe Srabon. Srijit (Mukherjee) is a talented director."
