Biting cold in Rajasthan, Churu freezes at 0.4 deg C

Mercury plummeted in parts of Rajasthan where Churu remained the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 0.4 degree Celsius, near freezing point.

The night temperatures dipped by 2-4 notches in the state, a Met department official said here.

Mount Abu, Sikar, Pilani, Sriganganagar, Jaipur and Ajmer recorded night temperature of 2.4, 2.5, 3.5, 3.7, and 4.2 degree Celsius respectively last night.

Bundi, Bikaner and Jaisalmer shivered at 5.5, 6 and 6.6 degree Celsius respectively, according to the Met report.

Meanwhile, seven trains under north western railway are running late up to 3 hours, an NWR spokesperson said.
