Bitti Mohanty case: Kerala Police visit Puttaparthi

A Kerala Police team today visited Puttaparthi near here as part of their efforts to gather details about rape case convict Bitti Mohanty, who jumped parole in 2006 while serving sentence in Rajasthan and was arrested from Kannur last week, police sources said.

The team approached local revenue department officials to get details about Mohanty, who is said to have stayed in Puttaparthi in Anantapur district for about three years after jumping parole, they sources said.

According to sources, Mohanty was suspected to have forged several documents in Andhra Pradesh to conceal his real identity during his stay in the State.
 

Mohanty had been living in Kerala as "Raghav Raja" and secured a job in a PSU bank.

When contacted, Puttaparthi Deputy Superintendent of Police Venkataiah said, "Kerala Police have not approached us till now for any help".
