A supporter of the ruling BJD has been killed in post-poll violence at a village in Aul area of Kendrapara district, the police said today.
A group of unidentified people attacked 45-yr-old Ranjitv Nayak with a sharp weapon at Kaanrapur village yesterday killing him on the spot, Kendrapara Superintendent of Police Rabi Narayan Behera said.
"The police rushed to the spot and are investigating the incident. While rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the killing, details are awaited", he said.
Aul area had witnessed post-poll violence on April 19 as Arjun Rout, a BJD supporter was killed and four others were injured following attack by rival Congress workers.
