"Even after 65 years of independence, the male dominated society do not treat women equal in the country," Morcha state secretary Purnima Sharma said here.
Addressing a one-day working committee meeting of the Morcha, Sharma expressed anguish over the fact that despite the women matching shoulders with men in all forays of life, they are still treated as humble and weak.
Morcha state president Sakina Bano pitched for a change altogether in the mindset of the society due to which people do not hesitate to opt for female foeticide.
Later, a resolution demanding reservation for women in Parliament and state Assemblies was unanimously adopted in the meeting.
