The BJP in West Bengal today accused the ruling TMC of trying to hush up the incident of bomb blast that took place in a TMC party office in Burdwan district on Sunday evening and demanded an NIA investigation into it.

"The TMC is trying to hush up the matter. A conspiracy is being hatched there. We have heard that a few people were present inside the building at the time of the blast. What happened to them? Where are they? Who stored such high intensity explosives inside a party office? There are a lot of unanswered questions. Only an NIA investigation can bring out the truth," state BJP president Dilip Ghosh said.

The TMC office was blown off by a huge explosion suspected to have been caused by explosives stored inside the structure. The exact location of the office is Pichkudi Dhaal in Ausgram in Burdwan district.

A team of BJP leaders led by BJP state secretary Locket Chatterjee today visited the place and spoke to the villagers.

Chatterjee said that the bomb blast was suspected to be a handiwork of jehadis.

"It's a big conspiracy and the TMC is also involved in it," Chatterjee alleged.

She claimed, "In the Khagragarh blast, also in Burdwan district, we had said that jehadis were making bombs and it was proven later in an NIA investigation. In this case too Jehadi link will come out."

"The TMC can't shirk its responsibility as the blast took place inside the party office," she said.

The Khagragarh blast, which occurred on October 2, 2014 had claimed two lives. The NIA later found that the two killed were all Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen operatives from Bangladesh.

Senior TMC leader Anubrata Mandal dismissed BJP's tatement as 'baseless'.

"The allegations are baseless. The law will take its own course," he said.
