With Bhangar still on the boil over the power sub-station issue, BJP supporters today clashed with police and blocked a road at Amdanga in North 24 Parganas district claiming that the state power utility was putting up electric poles on "fertile land".
SP Bhaskar Mukherjee said the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd personnel were putting up two uprooted poles to restore power supply in the area which was disrupted two days back.
Suddenly a group of BJP supporters arrived and stopped them.

BJP workers blocked the nearby road as soon as police reached the and stopped them from preventing WBPDCL staff from performing their duties, the SP said.
The demonstrators were involved in a scuffle with police when the cops tried to lift the blockade.
Seven BJP supporters were arrested from the spot, and two of them were women, the officer said.
Two persons had been killed in a clash over setting up of a power sub-station at Bhangar in South 24 Parganas district in January last week.
