Uttar Pradesh BJP today alleged that government postings in the state were being made on caste and religious lines, and institutions like UP Public Service Commission were made "political battleground".
BJP alleged that there was "misgovernance" in UP and honest officials like Durga Shakti Nagpal were being harassed.
Nagpal, who had clamped down on illegal mining in Noida, was suspended barely 10 months after she got her first posting in the state.

It said that on important issues, such as suspension of Nagpal, different views were emerging from ruling Samajwadi Party.
"It is the height of appeasement that posting are being made in the police stations on the basis of religion, and institution like PSC have been made a political battleground," the party said.
Troubled by its failures, the SP government is playing a game of reservations, the release said.
"Why were the rules changed in the first place starting a three tier reservation system and was the government not aware of it," it said.
At a meeting with youth activists, Shah directed them to ensure participation of more people in the campaign.
At another meeting, Shah asked for completing the constitution of divisional level units and set the time frame for constituting booth committees by August 15.
He also stressed on keeping in mind the social equations and political situations while constituting these committees.
