BJP ally RLSP seems headed for a split with party chief and Union minister Upendra Kushwaha today suspending its Lok Sabha MP Arun Kumar and MLA Lalan Paswan from the organisation, accusing them of carrying out "anti-party activities".

RLSP has three MPs and two MLAs, both in Bihar. Kumar along with Kushwaha, had played a key role in building the party but differences between the two leaders over key appointments in the organisation have led to a virtual split.

Kushwaha had earlier dissolved the party's Bihar unit, which was headed by Kumar.

Kumar was also the party's leader in the Lower House. It has no representation in Rajya Sabha.

"MP Arun Kumar and MLA Lalan Paswan are suspended from the party with immediate effect due to their involvement in anti-party activities and indiscipline," its chief general secretary Shivraj Singh said in a statement.
