BJP and TMC supporter held for killing during clash

A BJP and a Trinamool Congress supporter were today arrested in connection with the killing of three people in a turf war at Makra village in Birbhum district, police said.

BJP supporter Sheikh Shahjahan, one of the prime accused in the killing of Trinamool Congress worker Mojammel Sheikh, was arrested from his home at Parui village early today, police said.

Mojammel was one of the three persons killed in Makra village under Parui police station during firing between workers of Trinamool Congress and BJP on October 27 in the two-hour clash, when prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC were imposed there.
 

The other two persons killed in the clash were Tousif Sheikh and Soleman Sheikh.

The other accused, Trinamool Congress supporter Sheikh Bashir, was arrested from his home at Belpata village under Parui police station this morning in connection with the killing of BJP supporter Tousif during the clash.

Seikh Samad, a local BJP leader of Parui, was arrested on December 25 on charges of killing Mojammel and Soleman.
