With the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh now a mere formality, the BJP today announced separate units for Telangana and Seemandhra here.

Incumbent president of BJP's Andhra Pradesh unit G Kishan Reddy would head its Telangana unit, while K Haribabu has been appointed as president for Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra), a BJP release said.

Kishan Reddy is an MLA from Hyderabad, while former legislator Haribabu, is a member of the BJP's national disciplinary committee.

BJP is the third party in undivided Andhra Pradesh to have appointed separate units after the passage of the Telangana Bill in parliament.

The Congress appointed separate heads for Telangana and Seemandhra committees this week, while the CPI(M) also constituted separate units for Telangana and new Andhra Pradesh last week.
