A delegation of Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP today appealed state Governor B L Joshi to intervene into the suspension of IAS Durga Sakthi Nagpal and said that it should be revoked immediately.
A delegation of BJP leaders led by state chief Laxmi Kant Bajpai called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan and handed over a memorandum in this connection.
The BJP leaders said the state government made a Local Intelligence Unit report as the basis of action against Nagpal, which was contrary to its claims.

In the memorandum, they said the suspension proved the general perception that the IAS was removed because of the pressure from sand mining mafias, was right.
The delegation questioned that if law and order and demolition of the wall was the reason of Nagpal's suspension then why no action was taken against officers of various districts, including Lucknow, where communal violence took place.
After failing on all front ministers of Akhilesh led government has started issuing baseless statements, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
The state government was making baseless statements in connection with the SDM's suspension, he said.
