The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh has urged the Union Home Affairs ministry to pay special attention and expedite 'action-oriented' measures to build defence infrastructure in the state.
The party asked Home Minister Rajnath Singh to launch welfare schemes and provide basic amenities to people across the border areas in the state so that they could lead a peaceful life without any threat and fear, party spokesman Techi Necha said today.
Welcoming the prompt and focussed attention by the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, the party said that the Union Home ministry has allocated an amount of Rs 5000 crore to settle locals along the border.

"The ministry also proposes to create 54 new ITBP posts and construction of fast track roads along the Sino-Indo international border in Arunachal Pradesh. The policy will highly benefit the people living along the border," Necha pointed out.
The party also welcomed the move of the Union Ministry of Environment & Forests to launch a new system for online submission of application for environment clearance for faster clearance for constructing border roads and strategically important projects in a transparent manner.
Necha said that with such a move the state government could take decisions on environmental and forests clearances for defence infrastructure projects - including roads coming within 100-km-range of Line of Actual Control (LAC) to ease norms for clearances.
Terming the decision of the ministry to give free hand to implement projects like road construction and other strategically important projects within 100 Km of the LAC as a very positive signal, the party said it would serve the purpose of speeding up the infrastructure development in the LAC region.
