The SP government should immediately withdraw its order and resume purchasing of wheat from farmers, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters here.
He said that SP in its election manifesto had promised to ensure profitable price to the farmers, but after the government stopped buying of wheat, the farmers were forced to burn their produce.
Pathak alleged that the wheat procurement policy of the government has suffered due to administrative mismanagement and farmers are facing problem.
Taking note of the limited storage capacity and agencies involved in purchase exceeding their target this year, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to stop wheat procurement in phases.
