Attacking Akhilesh Yadav government over "rising atrocities", BJP chief Amit Shah today alleged "jungle raj" was prevailing in Uttar Pradesh and formed a four-member fact-finding committee to look into such incidents, including burning of a woman in Barabanki.
Shah, who held a review meeting here on the party's mass contact programme under 'Mission 2017' for UP Assembly polls, said law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh had deteriorated which was evident from the recent incidents in Barabanki and Shahjahanpur, where a journalist was burnt alive.
"In view of the rising incidents of atrocities, especially against women, party chief Amit Shah has formed a four-member fact-finding committee," party spokesperson Shrikant Sharma told reporters after the meeting.

At the meeting, Shah said that "jungle raj" was prevailing in Uttar Pradesh and only BJP can provide good governance and ensure all-round development of the state.
There is no place for Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, the BJP chief was quoted as saying by Sharma.
Senior BJP leader and local MP Murli Manohar Joshi was not present at the meeting, which was attended by almost all party MPs, MLAs and district presidents from the state.
Party sources said Joshi had some previously scheduled meetings and engagements and had conveyed his inability to attend the meeting. Sultanpur MP Varun Gandhi too was not present as he had to attend an event of Law Commission of India in Delhi.
