BJP today attacked the Himachal Pradesh government for the inordinate delay in completion of Theog-Hatkoti road and accused it of being "insensitive" to sufferings of the people of the area.

"The yatra has brought the miserable plight of the people of the area into light and now it is for the government to act and ensure that the road project is completed at the earliest," former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said, while addressing BJP workers on the conclusion of six-day 'padyatra'.

The road, which is the life-line of thosuands of people in Rohroo, Chopal, Jubbal, Kotkhai and Theog, was casuing suffering to the residents since the past four years due to its bad conditions, Dhumal said.

The padyatra, which was organised by BJP calling for the completion of 80 km long Theog-Hatkoti road, was termed 'historic' by Dhumal and he lauded the efforts the workers in making it a success.

The march, spearheaded by former BJP minister Narinder Bragata, was flagged off by state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti from Rohroo on November 14 and it reached Theog today and party workers drove to Dhalli and later marched to Sanjauli, where a rally was held.

The Theog-Hatkoti road covered four assembly segments of Rohroo, Chopal, Jubbal-Kotkhai and Theog and BJP had not won any of these Seats in 2012 assembly polls.

Three seats of Rohroo, Jubbal and Kotkhai and Theog were one by Congress while the Independent MLA from Chopal is supporting the Congress government.

Congress has dubbed the Padyatra a 'political gimmick' and blamed the previous BJP government of not taking prompt action for early completion of the road.
