Amid deadlock in finalising an electoral tie-up with DMDK and PMK, BJP national president Rajnath Singh today authorised the Tamil Nadu unit to complete the "process of forging alliance with prospective parties" in a week, a senior leader has said.

"Rajnath Singh has told us the process should be done in a week...The TN unit can go ahead and finalise the alliance... he has authorised," Pon Radhakrishnan, state BJP president told PTI from Delhi after holding talks with Singh.

On DMDK legislator VC Chandrakumar's view that his party "did not hold any talks with the BJP," Radhakrishnan said Chandrakumar was "not the one" they were holding parleys with.

Asked about the purpose of visit, the BJP leader said he and other functionaries apprised Singh on the talks they had held with parties like MDMK, DMDK and PMK so far.

L Ganesan (National executive member), Muralidhar Rao (Tamil Nadu In charge) and Mohanrajulu (Organisation secretary) were others who called on Singh alongwith Radhakrishnan.

"Though the national leadership has given us a week...We want to complete the process sooner," he said.

DMDK chief Vijayakanth who has been camping in Singapore for a week now is yet to make known the electoral allies of his party for the upcoming LS elections even as divergent views keep cropping up from his party.
