Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that the BJP government had broken the vicious circle of corruption in the state with the help of e-Governance.

"Our government has successfully broken the vicious circle of corruption, that prevailed from top to bottom under the previous regimes, with the introduction of e-Governance," Khattar told a gathering at the Intellectual Meet in Panchkula.

The chief minister said the state's people have accepted that the present government is "corruption-free".

He said his government resolved to root out corruption from all levels after it took reins of the state.

The BJP came to power in Haryana after securing a majority in the October 2014 Assembly elections.

Khattar said various e-initiatives had been taken to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach people without hindrance and to minimize human interface.

He said his government had adopted a fair and transparent recruitment system to reduce the scope of discretion in job interviews.

The chief minister accused the previous Congress government of playing with the future of lakhs of contractual employees.

They framed the regularisation policy to accommodate their favourites, which was constitutionally incorrect, Khattar claimed.

As a result, the high court recently scrapped the regularization policy of 2014, he said.

Khattar said his government was making regular appointments through state recruitment agencies - Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).

The chief minister asserted his government did not believe in playing "caste politics" and was working for the welfare of all sections of the society without any discrimination.

He described Haryana's 2.5 crore people as his family and said his government was working with the same spirit.

Khattar said under the BJP, Haryana had improved its ease of doing business rankings from 14 in 2015 to number one this year.

The chief minister exhorted the intelligentsia present on the occasion to apprise the people of the achievements of the state and central governments.
