BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh today said his party cannot take action against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje merely on the basis of documents provided by an absconder.

"If the person who is accused, is served with ED notices and is considered an absconder gives a document on the basis of which the BJP is expected to react, then I am sorry it is very difficult for the party," Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a programme here.

The BJP central leadership has asserted that it "fully supports" Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who is engulfed in the Lalit Modi controversy, rejecting Opposition demands for her resignation.

Singh also took a dig at Lalit Modi's claim that he had "run into" Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra in London.

"The meeting between Robert Vadra and Lalit Modi cannot be incidental. The Congress has to give an answer," said Singh.
