Ravindra Singh Rathore, who is the BJP candidate for the post of Nawabganj Nagar Palika Parishad chairman, was arrested along with his two supporters this afternoon, they said.

This was following an incident where BJP workers, led by Rathore, went on a rampage and torched some vehicles last night alleging irregularities during polling yesterday, they added.

Later, the workers also blocked Pilibhit-Bareilly road demanding removal of a sub-divisional magistrate while accusing him of supporting the SP candidate, they said.

Rathore's supporters were lathicharged when they protested against his arrest, they said.
