BJP today claimed that CBI's move to give a clean chit to former Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal in the cash-for-transfer scam is "illegal".

President of Chandigarh unit of BJP, Sanjay Tandon in a statement said that "conniving partners" Congress and CBI have breached trust and perpetrated fraud on the citizens of the country.

He said that the CBI shows a different colour for Congress and quite another for other parties and people.

"CBI seems to believe in the adage, 'Show me the face, I will show you the law'," he said, adding, the party has decided to take up the issue with people in every household of the constituency.

Meanwhile, Bansal declined to comment on the charge sheet saying he was yet to see the document.
