BJP has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against three Congress leaders including Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for violation of Model Code of Conduct.

The complaint filed by BJP co-convener of legal cell, advocate Vikrant Thakur, stated that the leaders including the chief minister, HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu and Congress candidate from Hamirpur, Rajinder Singh Rana are propagating false statements through media against sitting MP Anurag Thakur, who is also president of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

"Anurag Thakur has already served a legal notice on these leaders for continuously giving false statements without verifying the facts against him. All of them have been continuously indulging in mudslinging and making statements based on false facts," the complainant alleged.

These slanderous statements are continuously propagated with malicious intent to create a perception among the general public that he has done no work for the constituency, he added.
