Looking to corner the Jammu and Kashmir government over its decision to discontinue services of contractual workers, BJP today slammed the policy of providing employment to former militants.

"This coalition, instead of providing more jobs and regularising daily and ad-hoc basis employees, has taken this anti-youth step," BJP state president Jugal Kishore, said today.

Expressing concern over the recent government decision to do away with contractual workers hired after 1994, Kishore said, "on one hand Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is making policies to give employment to former militants and youth returning from Pakistan and on the other, he is throwing out the youth, already employed for the past seven to ten years."

The move may end up encouraging militancy in the state, Kishore alleged, calling for an immediate withdrawal of the decision.
