The Punjab unit of BJP today condemned the death of two protesters who were staging a demonstration over the alleged desecration of a holy book, and appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace and communal harmony.
Describing Punjab to be a sensitive state, Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma said, "People of this state have earned peace by giving so many sacrifices but today certain anti-national forces are determined to again disturb peace and are making efforts to put another black spot on Punjab's face.
"But this will not happen as people of the state are intelligent enough to understand all this," Sharma said.
