BJP councillor killed in Raj

A BJP councillor was shot dead by unidentified persons outside his house in Alwar district, police said today.

The incident took place last night in Behror town when the miscreants opened-fire at Trilok Yadav, they said.

He was rushed to a local hospital from where he was shifted to a private hospital here where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

An FIR has been lodged in this connection based on a complaint filed by Yadav's relative and efforts to identify the accused are on, Alwar SP Vikas Kumar said.

In an another incident, former Congress MLA Jakir Hussain was beaten up by some persons in Kishangarh area while he was heading towards Makrana from Ajmer on Wednesday, police said.
 

Hussain and his wife received some injuries in the incident, police said.

The investigation in the matter is on, they said.
