Criticising National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah for reportedly raising the bogey of Autonomy, BJP today alleged that loss of power is "forcing" him to rake up the autonomy demand.

"We strongly condemn the NC President Farooq Abdullah for raising the bogey of Autonomy and asking for handing over PoK to Pakistan", Leader of BJP Legislative Party and former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh told reporters here today.

Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and nobody can question finality of its accession with India as Maharaja Hari Singh was the sole authority to decide on the Accession of State.

Farooq Abdullah had yesterday in Srinagar reportedly reiterated the demand for autonomy.

Singh alleged that loss of power in the state and pampering by the UPA led Cong government in the past has gone into the head of father-son duo of Abdullahs who are raking meaningless issues.

He said that Indian Parliament has passed a resolution in 1994 reaffirming its resolve to take back Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

"Desperation for power is the reason that they (Father-Son duo) on Wednesday questioned the accession of J&K with India and demanded that J&K be granted autonomy; a demand which has been out rightly rejected by BJP led NDA government as far back as 2001", he said.

He alleged that Farooq Abdullah and his Omar are trying to "befool" the people of Kashmir.

"From 1975 National Conference remained in power for many times but did not raise controversial issues.

"Being CM of the state Omar Abdullah for six years did not raise the issue of autonomy, so now he has to explain to the people of the state what is the need to raise separatist's slogan," he said.

BJP Legislative Party leader claimed there is vociferous demand from the people of Pak Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to reunite with Jammu and Kashmir which is integral part of India.

He thanked Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu for keeping adequate budgetary provisions for the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the railway budget.
