A BJP delegation today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and submitted a memorandum, alleging "violation" of constitutional provisions in introducing various bills in the legislative assembly and attempts to "suppress" the voice of the Opposition in the House.
"We have requested the Lt Governor that in the larger interest of the people and for respecting the Constitution, he should make an assessment of the working of the Delhi Legislative Assembly and issue directions to the Delhi Government and the Speaker to follow constitutional procedures," the delegation members said after the meeting.
"We also urged that he should ensure that the Opposition gets the opportunity to raise their voice," said Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Sahab Singh Chauhan.
The party said in the memo the Delhi Government is not following the provisions and it seems that Delhi is going to face a constitutional crisis.
